PSCH 396 - MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH
This advanced research seminar builds on foundational knowledge of mental health services and community-based research, shifting from understanding what behavioral health research is to examining how it is designed, adapted, implemented, and evaluated in real-world settings. Students will explore how evidence-based interventions and research protocols are translated into practice within schools, clinics, and community organizations, with particular attention to equity, cultural context, feasibility, and system-level constraints. Through applied readings, case-based discussions, and hands-on activities, students will learn how researchers and practitioners make decisions when ideal study conditions are not possible.
